| Interesting country with a horrible recent history of war and terrible bloodshed. Abandoned by its former colonial power, Portgual, the country fell into civil war very quickly and stayed there, with the help of the then-apartheid government of South Africa, for a long time. WIth much of its infrastructure destroyed by the decades of war, there wasn't much in the way of tourist support when I went, but it was still a beautiful place to visit.
