| Yes, it is as impressive as everybody says it is, but you soon realize that as one of the wonders of the world, everybody else is also coming to see it. Not to take anything away from its original majesty, but the fact that modern Cairo comes right up to the perimeter of the pyramids themselves (there's a KFC a hundred yards away from the Sphinx) and the crowds are overwhelming. Oh yes, the Sphinx is much smaller than you imagine.%0D
