Where the forest meets the reef

That's the saying up in Northern Queensland, still a beautifully wild and forested place, with very few people around.

After you leave behind the sugar plantations, you get into the forest where cassowary (a large flightless bird) lives.

Interesting story about this place is that it was declared a World Heritage Site over the objections of the locals who wanted to continue foresting it. When it was clear it was going to be designated, the logger went through the forest and systematically removed the most valuable trees.%0D
