| Like a scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark Petra doesn't disappoint (in fact it was the setting for the climactic scene in the third movie -- so no surprise there). A necropolis (city of the dead), Petra has some of the most elaborately carved rock structures in the world. Tombs built into the soft stone of the sides of a wadi (dry river bed), will hold you spellbound. The colors of the sandstone and the immensity of the undertaking is breathtaking. My advice is to take your time and see the place. A couple of days would be good.%0D
