| The gateway to Antarctica is not quite one what would expect though in some ways it's exactly what it should be. Though most of the "frontier town" feel has gone, the city still maintains a rugged outdoor atmosphere. On a bay surrounded by stunning snow-capped mountains, the industrial decay at its fringes adds to a rustbelt impression: many hopes have died here.%0D
