| Zip Lining Monteverde is a Cloud Forest, an ever smaller type of environment where much of the precipitation comes not from rain, but from being enveloped by clouds, with the condensation providing the life-giving water. It is here that the first zip lining was set up: steel cables are strung from adjacent mountain tops and you get put into a harness which is then suspended from the cables. Gravity allows you to go from one point to the other. The cables can be quite long, over a kilometer in length and, because of the clouds, you are often not able to see your destination from your starting point. Hair-raising, but fun.%0D
